PAST TENSE VS PERFECT TENSE
Hello! back again with me in this blog. Today we'll discuss about past tense and perfect tense.
- I jumped in the lake (This is a past activity.)
- I was happy (This is a past state of being.)
And basically simple past tense is always use verb 2. Simple past tense doesn't use have or has, just verb 2
Examples of the Simple Past Tense
- I played when I was younger.
- I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free
- Drawing on my fine command of the English language, I said nothing.
Present perfect tense combines the present tense and the
perfect aspect used to express an event that happened in the past that has
present consequences.
Different from the simple past tens, perfect tense is use verb 3 not verb 2
Examples of the present perfect tense:
- We have seen this movie already.
- We haven't seen her today.
- The children have made a mess in the kitchen.
- Where have I left my sandals?
